Best Technology I've Implemented In 2006

by Jan Harrigan CPA

Hands down, the best technology I’ve implemented in 2006 is the Treo 700p talking to an Exchange server.

OK so I’ve been a Palm user since the early days of the Palm Pilot. And I thought I had died and gone to heaven when the Treo 600 came out. But the 700 just goes one step beyond.

I would love the phone and all the Palm applications just by itself. But I turn my phone on and my email is THERE. The Exchange server pushes it out to my phone without my doing anything. All I had to do was buy a 3rd party email client: 60 bucks later I’m done.

I turned off all notifications so it doesn’t interrupt and continually notify me that email is arriving.

I use a hosted Exchange account so I don’t have to deal with any of the techie stuff involved in having your own Exchange server.

Don’t know how I lived without this!
